Wine Is Fine, But Coffee's Warmer!

Good Morning! Another FREEZING morning in Northern Maine,  and tucked in with a hot cup of coffee the day statts off as usual...a lovely little surf around a few of my favorite blogs, starting today with My Craft Spot, giving us another great release party for stamps & dies!  (craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com)

With that said and all the Beautiful inspirations seen this morning,  I guess it's time to post one
of mine!

Although all my posts have been cards, today I decided to post a different kind of project,  Wine Glass Charms! These were for a Best Friends' Birthday,  and were fairly easy to make with just a few pieces of wire and some Murano Glass Beads.  They were loved when received and will come in handy as she and her husband make thier own wine, delish by the way, and the colors were chosen with her liking warm colors. Hope you like them!

Mom's Birthday Blessings

Good Morning! Looks like Winter is coming back through, and it's going to be very cold for us in Northern Maine this week...I know we ALWAYS HAVE 6 extra weeks of Winter on Groundhog's Day, but come on, does it seriously have to be below zero for soooo long? I'll take 10ft of Snow before below zero temps! So I guess it'll be a good time to catch up on all the cards I've been neglecting to make.....so with my cup of coffee and all my paper, glitter, glue, rhinestones, scissors and Cricut machine, it's time to CREATE!

Here's one to start the inspirations flowing...this is a Birthday Card I made recently for my Mom who was rehabbing from a Heart Attack; I figured the colors would cheer her up and I was right! AC Moore Cardstock, DCWV Birthday Cardstock, K&Co Stickers, American Crafts Glitter, Ribbon and Rhinestones were all used to create this 3d Birthday Cake! The Candles fit in the cake as well and ther are mini beads in the sticker cake and star balloon to add some dimensions as well! My Cricut also came in handy for the cake topper and the background/mat for the stickers as well. The strip was created with Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page and a few hints of glitter add just the pinache I was looking for! Enjoy!

Navigating Through My Crafty Being

Good Morning!  Navigating through life is a little bit like navigating the internet...you learn as you go! Well my Crafting style follows the same principles,  and though I hate making mistakes (a lil bit of a perfectionist), sometimes the best details come out and generate new ideas! So, although we think everything has to be perfect,  like life, you gotta tweak it sometimes to get what it how you'll like it!

This next project shows just that...1 mistake, or so I thought, gave me an opportunity to embellish in ways I wouldn't of imagined! AC Moore Cardstock was used for the base along with a scrap of Snowflake Paper for the layer. I used the Winter Wonderland Cartridge from Anna Griffin with my Cricut E2 for the Snowflakes layered with Rhinestones whic  is popping up with pop dots on a strip of White Iridescent Ribbon tied up with a simple bow. Hope you Enjoy!

My First Blog.....FINALLY!!!

After having a Blogger account for 3 yrs., I have finally decided to bite the bullet and actually post something!  Time to lay my fears to rest and just go for it! As this is all new to me, please bare with me, and TIA for some patience as I try to navigate through this crazy technological world which we call the Internet...or Home as I like to say since we seem to spend so much time online! This blog I hope will contain beloved Crafting Projects as well as rants and the goings on of my daily life...hopefully it's not too boring! Although I don't think it will be,  seeing as I take care of my elderly Mom who is quite ill, my FiancĂ© of 13yrs and our BEAUTIFUL Daughter as well as 2 cats and a dog, I think there'll be plenty of stories to tell! Well, wish me luck!

For my first project I'd like to show, it's one of my most recent...a Birthday Card for a very special friend. This one took 2 days, in between Doctors appointments and normal everyday life...
It's actually one of my favorite creations thus far! The base of the card was made with AC Moore Cardstock in White. For the front of the card, I used some Brights Patterned Cardstock from JoAnns to create the diagonal strips and met that line up with some Birthday Patterned Paper Scraps I had laying around; topped the adjoining lines with another scrap of Patterned Paper topped with Iridescent Ribbon. The Banner came from the Something to Celebrate Cartridge with my Cricut E2 in matching papers topped with Glitter. The Medallion, which is a removable magnet, was made out of Foil Cardstock, punched edges and accordion folded, which matched the fussy cut gift in the middle that I covered in Paper Glaze to make "Shiny Wrapping Paper".
The inside is layered with matching Paper,  cut and scored in the middle to Pop Up the Cricut cut Glittered Presents, Cake and Balloons. Truly one of my best going to my Bestie! I hope you enjoy it and Thanks for visiting!
